Our first stop is Khamlia Village, where you’ll immerse yourself in the hypnotic beats of Gnawa music—a tradition brought by descendants of Sudanese and Ghanian communities. Into the Desert Wilderness
Next, we drive along the Paris-Dakar Rally route, crossing rugged tracks to Mifis, a surreal landscape of volcanic stones and abandoned lead mines. We’ll pause at a desert oasis, where towering palms contrast with the surrounding sands, and meet nomadic families who’ll share insights into their daily lives. How do they endure summer sandstorms and scorching heat? You’ll learn their secrets over a glass of mint tea.
Berber Lunch with Nomads
By midday, we’ll enjoy a traditional Berber lunch cooked by a local woman and served in handmade dishes. Relax in a nomad’s tent or under the shade of a tamarisk tree, savoring flavors like harira soup, tagine, or freshly baked bread.
Afternoon Adventure (Until 4:00 PM)
Refueled, we’ll dive back into the dunes, weaving through Erg Chebbi’s towering waves of sand. Your driver will show hidden viewpoints before returning you to Merzouga by 4:00 PM, leaving you with memories (and camera rolls) full of desert magic.
