12 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Your journey begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s cosmopolitan hub. After arrival at Mohammed V Airport, you’ll visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, perched over the Atlantic Ocean. Explore the Corniche or unwind at Rick’s Café (inspired by the classic film). Spend your first night in Casablanca, preparing for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen

Depart for Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to discover its historic gems: the Hassan Tower, the seaside Kasbah of the Udayas, and the ancient Chellah Ruins. Continue north to the enchanting Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Wander its famous blue-painted streets and soak in the serene mountain ambiance.

Day 3: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes

After a morning in Chefchaouen (optional sunrise hike to the Spanish Mosque), travel to Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman ruins. Stop in Meknes to admire its grand gates and imperial history before arriving in Fes, the country’s spiritual and cultural heart.

Day 4: Fes Guided Exploration

Dive into Fes’s labyrinthine UNESCO-listed medina with a local guide. Highlights include the Al Quaraouiyine University, the vibrant Chouara Tanneries, and the intricate Bou Inania Madrasa. Explore the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and the Royal Palace, ending the day with an optional traditional dinner.

Day 5: Fes → Ifrane → Merzouga Desert

Journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing the alpine town of Ifrane and the Cedar Forest (home to wild monkeys). Descend into the Sahara via the dramatic Ziz Valley, arriving in Merzouga for a sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night in a luxury desert camp with Berber music and stargazing.

Day 6: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Wake up to a desert sunrise before visiting Rissani, a historic trading town. Drive through the stunning Todra Gorge, where 300m cliffs tower above a palm-lined river. Continue to the Dades Valley, known for its surreal rock formations and “Monkey Fingers” peaks.

Day 7: Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech

Traverse the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortress featured in Hollywood films. Stop in Ouarzazate (the “Hollywood of Morocco”) before crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass to vibrant Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech City Tour

Discover Marrakech’s highlights: the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the opulent Bahia Palace, and the hidden Saadian Tombs. Visit the Majorelle Garden and YSL Museum, then enjoy a free evening to explore the souks or attend a dinner show.

Day 9: Marrakech → Essaouira (Day Trip)

Escape to the coastal town of Essaouira, a windswept gem with a UNESCO-listed medina. Stroll along the harbor, visit the Skala Fortress, and browse artisan workshops. Enjoy fresh seafood by the sea before returning to Marrakech.

Day 10: Free Day in Marrakech

Choose your adventure: a hot air balloon ride at dawn, a Moroccan cooking class, a relaxing hammam spa, or a day trip to the Ouzoud Waterfalls. The day is yours to tailor.

Day 11: Marrakech → Casablanca

Return to Casablanca for a farewell dinner, with free time for last-minute shopping or a leisurely walk along the Corniche.

Day 12: Departure from Casablanca
