1. Afternoon Departure (4:00 – 5:00 PM)

Your desert experience begins with a hotel pickup in Merzouga. You’ll meet your camel caravan guide and prepare for the journey. After a short safety briefing, you’ll be paired with your camel. The guides will help you mount comfortably before setting off into the dunes.

2. Sunset Camel Ride (1.5 Hours)

The camel trek starts as the sun begins to lower. You’ll slowly ride through the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoying the peaceful desert atmosphere. The gentle sway of the camels and stunning views create unforgettable memories. Your guide will stop at a high dune to watch the spectacular sunset.

3. Arrival at Desert Camp

After sunset, you’ll continue to a traditional Berber camp nestled among the dunes. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with mint tea and dates. The camp features comfortable tents with proper bedding, shared bathrooms, and a central dining area.

4. Evening in the Desert

Dinner is served under the stars – a delicious Berber meal of tagine, couscous, or other local dishes. After eating, gather around the campfire for traditional music and drumming. You can try playing desert instruments, share stories, or simply enjoy the incredible silence of the Sahara at night.

5. Morning Sunrise & Return

Wake up early to witness the magical desert sunrise. After breakfast, you’ll have time to explore nearby dunes before the return camel ride (about 1 hour) to Merzouga. You’ll arrive back at your hotel by approximately 8:00 AM, completing your overnight desert experience.
